In the canton of Vaud the customary dates are 1 April, 1 July and 1 October, outside Lausanne each at 12 noon. 1 January is not a customary date. The notice dates in your lease take precedence over customary dates; the notice period for flats is at least three months (Art. 266c CO).

Prefectural conciliation commissions for tenancy
Each district has a conciliation commission at its prefecture (e.g. Préfecture de Lausanne, Place du Château 1). The request is sent in writing to the prefecture where the flat is located; the hearing takes place within two months. Chaired by the prefect with one tenant and one landlord representative. Conciliation in tenancy matters is free of charge (Art. 113(2)(c) Swiss Civil Procedure Code).
